Greetings from the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA)! The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, is the nodal agency for promoting seafood exports. India is one of the leading seafood exporters globally and currently exports to nearly 130 countries. The country exported seafood worth USD 7.45 billion during the last financial year. MPEDA is organising international trade fairs in India to highlight the country's aquaculture and seafood processing capabilities as part of its Market Promotion initiatives. Following the success of the first edition of the Seafood Expo Bharat (SEB 2025), MPEDA is organising the second edition of Seafood Expo Bharat (SEB 2026) at the Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, from 01 to 03 July 2026.
The Expo will feature exhibition stalls, a Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM), tasting sessions, technical presentations, and exposure visits to seafood processing plants and aquaculture farms. The event will act as a comprehensive platform for stakeholders across the value chain, including hatchery operators, feed mill operators, aqua farmers, aquaculture machinery manufacturers, fishers, processors, equipment manufacturers, trading agents, technical experts, and exporters. The exhibition will host 325 stalls, with participation expected from over 5,000 business delegates from India and abroad. MPEDA has a successful track record in organising RBSMs, as demonstrated during World Food India (WFI) 2023, 2024 and 2025, as well as Seafood Expo Bharat (SEB) 2025. The first edition of SEB attracted 48 importers from 20 countries, benefiting 130 leading Indian seafood exporters. Around 807 one-to- one business meetings were conducted during the RBSM at SEB 2025.
MPEDA will extend the following support for the invited seafood importers:
Reimbursement of return economy-class airfare for the shortest route, up to a maximum of USD 2,000.
Star Hotel Accommodation near the venue, local hospitality and logistic support during the event days.
Free Language translator/interpreter support during Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings.
Support for pre-planned exposure visits to seafood processing plants and aquaculture farms.
